My name is Nadine Ross and I'm the proud mother of 4 beautiful daughters. Yes! That's right 4 GIRLS lol Over the past two decades, they've taught me so much. From the moment I knew they were growing inside me and to this very day. They have always given, and continue to give me the strength I need to work hard and follow my goals. These young people and future parents, inspire me every day to educate about their choices when it comes to their births.
I have been in love with the raw beauty and the amazing process of pregnancy and birth ever since I was a young girl. My mother started educating me at a young age about the natural physiology of birth, and thus I have always viewed it as a natural occurring event. Once I was able to have children of my own, I quickly realized that even with my upbringing and the knowledge my mother had given me, I still knew so little about modern birth, my rights as the birthing parent and standards of practice. I observed firsthand how easily we can surrender our journeys to others. This beautiful rite of passage, albeit a deep impacting one, is often times misunderstood and controlled, when it should be respected and guarded. I truly believe all people can have the births they long for when given the right resources, support and information.
When it comes to infant care and sleep, I bring my decades of experience with newborns and children to help parents start off on the right track. I help teach infant care, support breastfeeding and all feeding types, educate on sleep expectations and establishing positive sleep associations, how to establish routines with your child and share special tips and tricks to soothe fussy, gassy and reflux babies. I have extensive experience with twins and premature infants and know how much extra help and support these parents need for their own physical and mental health.
Now as a Certified Birth & Postpartum Doula, and Placenta Arts Specialist, I help my clients seek informed choices and guide them so they can begin their journey as parents without regrets and with confidence. I educate, support, and help parents connect with their instincts, their bodies and their babies. Being able to support families during such a special time in their lives is both a passion and an privilege.
I look forward to connecting with you!

"Thanks for following up. Everything is going really well I have been taking the pills and I'm finding they are really helping with my milk supply. I also have so much more energy than I did with my first son. I actually feel better than I did when I was pregnant. I was much more tired then."

"Just wanted to thank you for the pills.
What a difference from my first pregnancy in terms of energy and mood!"

"Nadine from Beautiful Beginnings was the greatest thing that could have happened to me and my husband during my pregnancy and birth. It was our second child and I made the mistake of not having a Doula for my first birth. It was long, painful and not a pleasant experience. When I met Nadine I instantly connected with her. She listened and was so attentive to our needs. All the fear I had about giving birth a second time melted away. From our meetings, birth plans, and her constant support I really felt loved and cared for.
When I actually went into labour Nadine was there in a flash and she never left my side. She listened to me, supported me and allowed me and my husband to labour together and bring our daughter into the world with the natural and happy birth we missed out on the first time. Her insight, tips and suggestions made everything easier on me and the use of the rebozo was the most amazing suggestion of all. The counter pressure it provided during intense contractions was incredible and I would have never known about this technique if wasn't for Nadine.Nadine also encapsulated my placenta and she did it quickly and efficiently. If you're looking for a Doula look no further! Nadine is amazing!"

What is the difference between a Doula and a midwife?
A Doula is a non-medical professional and cannot prescribe or treat medical conditions or concerns. They take care of the birthing parent from the waist up, and look out for the needs of their support person as well.
I'm not planning an unmedicated birth so I don't need a Doula.
A Doula will support an expecting parent and their support person regardless of their birth plan. They focus on emtional, physical and informational needs throughout pregnancy, labour and the post-partum period.
If I have a midwife or a one on one nurse why do I need a Doula?
The support offered by each is unique in it's own way, and all offer their benefits. A Doula is the only one who will provide continuous support throughout the entire pregnancy. You can call or message any time with questions or concerns, she will come to your home before you have to head to the hospital, she will help during the postpartum weeks at your home, and will help support your partner or support person as well. She doesn't work for the hospital and doesn't have forms or paperwork to fill out, meaning she's focused solely on the needs of the birthing parent and her support person.
